Get Started at Your Community College

Begin your journey at a Bay Area Community College

Pre-Apprenticeships and Apprenticeships are a great way to get your start in teaching.

  • PreApprenticeships serve high school students and enable them to explore teaching careers and earn college units

  • Apprenticeships allow you to earn while you learn through partnerships between community colleges and local school districts and other employers. They include:

    • Employment as an education professional

    • Taking classes for free, usually with other apprentices

    • Supportive community, mentoring and academic support

Enroll in a community college in the SF Bay Area and start your teaching career. Try classes for future teachers, get help and support, find a job with children or youth, graduate and transfer! We are here to help!

“The SF Educators Rising Apprenticeship Program has helped me grow as a Special Education paraeducator and see myself as a future teacher and advocate. I’ve gained confidence, practical tools, and strong support to better serve students with diverse needs and build inclusive classrooms.

This program is more than a career path. It’s a way to grow and uplift future educators from our own communities. It values our lived experience, supports our development, and connects us to a strong, caring network.”
