Get Started at Your Community College
Begin your journey at a Bay Area Community College
Pre-Apprenticeships and Apprenticeships are a great way to get your start in teaching.
PreApprenticeships serve high school students and enable them to explore teaching careers and earn college units
Apprenticeships allow you to earn while you learn through partnerships between community colleges and local school districts and other employers. They include:
Employment as an education professional
Taking classes for free, usually with other apprentices
Supportive community, mentoring and academic support
Enroll in a community college in the SF Bay Area and start your teaching career. Try classes for future teachers, get help and support, find a job with children or youth, graduate and transfer! We are here to help!
“The SF Educators Rising Apprenticeship Program has helped me grow as a Special Education paraeducator and see myself as a future teacher and advocate. I’ve gained confidence, practical tools, and strong support to better serve students with diverse needs and build inclusive classrooms.
This program is more than a career path. It’s a way to grow and uplift future educators from our own communities. It values our lived experience, supports our development, and connects us to a strong, caring network.”
